Basel Saleh is a PhD student in ecomomics. His research interests include macroeconomic theory, including trade and development, mathematical economics, econometrics (especially count data and other categorical data models), and time series analysis. Among his recent papers: (2002) "Is there a significant link between unemployment in the Palestinian Territories and political violence?"; (2003) "Socioeconomic profile of Palestinian militants from Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad and Al Aqsa Martyr's Brigades".
