Giorgio Biancorosso
musicologist
Giorgio Biancarosso studied Musicology and Philosophy at the University of Rome, Musicology at King's College, London and at Princeton, where he obtained his Ph.D. with a thesis on the Aesthetics of Film Music. He is presently a Fellow at the Society of Fellows in the Humanities, Columbia University, where is working on Perceptual Ambiguity. Publications include: Beginning Credits and Beyond: Music and the Cinematic Imagination, in Echo (2000); Film, Music, and the Redemption of the Mundane, forthcoming in Bad music,(Routledge). He is a regular contributor to Il Giornale della Musica (Turin) and to Il Saggiatore Musicale (Bologna). He is currently at work on a book entitled Where Does the Music Come From? Studies in the Aesthetics of Film Music.
