Marta Spranzi is completing a book on the relationship between literary structure and scientific argument in Galileo's "Dialogue on the Two Chief World Systems". This work reflects her long-standing interest in the interactions between rhetoric, dialectic and scientific demonstration as well as in the logic of scientific demonstration. She has also worked on the role and ethics of communication in the doctor/patient relationship. In the context of her participation in the ethics committee of the eating disorders treatment network of the Paris area, she is currently conducting a research on the conditions and ethical justification of involuntary confinement and the negotiation of the hospitalisation contract for young anorexia patients.
