V.S. Ramachandran is a world-renowned researcher in the field of behavioural neurology and human vision. He is Director of the Center for Brain and Cognition, professor in the neurosciences program and psychology department at the University of California, San Diego, and adjunct professor of biology at the Salk Institute. Ramachandran obtained a PhD from Trinity College, Cambridge, where he was elected senior Rouse Ball Scholar. In 2001 he was also conferred an honorary DSc (Doctor of Science, honoris causa) by Connecticut College.
